Charitable Giving
One of the most innovative charitable fundraisers in the nation, the Tin Cup Challenge is also one of the most successful. Since 2008, this event has raised nearly $27 million, directly benefitting Teton Valley’s cherished nonprofits working tirelessly to enhance our quality of life.
Volunteering is vital to strengthening communities by bringing people together to support one another and create lasting positive change. When individuals give their time and talents, they help meet immediate needs, build deeper connections, and enjoy a shared sense of purpose. Volunteers are crucial in driving local initiatives forward, from supporting youth and seniors to protecting natural spaces and uplifting nonprofits. Their efforts foster resilience, compassion, and unity—making our communities stronger, more inclusive, and better equipped to thrive.
If you want to volunteer for the event or other opportunities with the Community Foundation, please contact our Program Manager, Brian Thysell. Pair your expertise with available opportunities across the community, check out our Volunteer Bulletin Board:
Since ’07
After participating in the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole’s Old Bill’s Fun Run as a neighboring community for many years, local nonprofit leaders gathered in 2007 to consider starting our own fundraising mechanism on the west side of the Tetons. The Community Foundation of Teton Valley was created as an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole and has been serving Teton Valley nonprofits ever since. The Tin Cup Challenge has raised millions since its inception in 2007 and made philanthropy a household word in Teton Valley.
